Above is a Composition Boudoir or Bed doll. She was made in the 1920's. They were typically owned by woman who would dress them up in fancy cloths and keep them in their bedroom. There are also stories that woman would have outfits made for them to match their dresses, They would then take them to parties. This doll is smoking a cigarette and was mode for the CUBEB Tobacco Company which was selling high end cigarettes that they were trying to target to young woman. It was designed by Samuel Haskell. For this project I had to repair the body and and made the outfit from vintage fabric and materials.
